Is your caravan in need of a deep clean? With most caravans being white, it can be hard to keep them looking fresh and clean -especially during the winter months! Caravans and motorhomes are prone to dirt, whether that be from storage, dirty rainwater collecting on the roof, or just general wear and tear. Not only this, the inside of them can get pretty messy – especially those small and compact chemical toilets! If your caravan is starting to look a little dull and you want to give it a deep clean, here are some tips and tricks for you to try, as well as those all-important products to leave your caravan or motorhome gleaming!
1. Start with the Roof
It’s important to start from the top and make your way down. This will avoid you having to clean the body twice, as cleaning the roof can be a messy process – especially if you have black marks all down your caravan, as these are caused by an unclean roof. When it rains, the dirt is then dripped down the body of the white paint, creating dirty streaks. To prevent this, do your best to clean the caravan roof. If you can get a ladder and carefully clean the top, you’ll get the best results as you’ll clearly be able to see where the dirt and grime have been collecting. Once you can see it, use a long floor brush to distribute the shampoo or other cleaning products and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. This will help to keep those black streaks at bay and keep your caravan looking clean for longer.

2. Deep Clean
Probably the thing you’ve been putting off the most but it has to be done – you need to deep clean the paintwork! To do this, we recommend using a pH neutral snow foam and a good quality car shampoo. Use the snow foam first and this will remove any loose pieces of dirt and debris from the outside of the vehicle, making the surface much smoother when it comes to deep cleaning. As a result, the caravan will be less likely to get scratched or marked when you start using a car shampoo and sponge – keeping your caravan or motorhome looking as good as new! Snow foam is also great for removing those really embedded bits of dirt, so if you haven’t cleaned your caravan in a while, we’d definitely recommend giving it a go. We recommend that once you’ve done this you keep on top of it – nothing beats the look of a sparkling clean vehicle and by using the snow foam whenever new marks start to appear, you’ll have that freshly-washed look every day!

3. Remove Those Pesky Black Streaks
Those black marks we were talking about at the beginning, well they can be really hard to remove! We highly recommend that you get a specially formulated product to remove these marks, as they can break through the stains to remove them with ease. Black marks can really spoil the look of a vehicle and by using a specially designed formula, like our Pro-Kleen Black Streak Remover, you’ll be able to keep the paintwork looking clean and fresh – especially if you’re caravan is really prone to developing black marks!
4. Clean the Windows
Dirt, dust and grime can collect onto caravan and motorhome windows, which if not properly treated, can cause extremely streaky and unclean windows – definitely not what you want to be looking out of on your holiday. The corners of windows can also start to become mouldy – especially fi your caravan has been kept in storage. Make sure to deeply clean your windows to keep them shiny and clear! It’s also a good idea to regularly wipe them down if they’re prone to having condensation on them – a common problem many caravan owners have!
5. Keep Your Toilets Sparkling
If there’s one thing that can be hard to keep clean in your caravan and motorhome, it’s your toilet. Both the waste and flush tank need to be cared for and maintained properly and in order to do this, you need to be able to use the correct products.
