Completely Clean Your Tyres and Alloys in Minutes
It’s easy enough to get your car looking shiny – a rinse with some soap and water will help, or you could even give it a thorough Snow Foam pre-wash followed by a wash and wax to make your car gleam. However, making your car’s bodywork clean and spotless often makes your wheels look a bit battered in comparison, and no amount of washing seems to bring back that showroom shine. Luckily, there’s a way out for anyone who doesn’t want dirty wheels and dull alloys to let the appearance of their car down.
Why Are My Car Wheels Discoloured?
Your wheels are made up of alloys and a tyre that fits around a wheel rim. Both of these things can get really dirty Your tyres and alloys together are two parts of your car’s wheel, and they tend to get much more abuse than other parts of your car. Trundling around on the road, they’ll pick up dust, grime, and scuffs that other parts of your car won’t get, so they’ll need a bit of special attention. They’re also likely to get covered in bits of grease, oil, tar, tree sap, and other contaminants, which in turn makes it easier for dirt to stick to your wheels! In addition to the discolouration they pick up from the road, both your tyres and alloys (especially the alloys) will become discoloured thanks to particles from your car, too. Over time, tiny particles of iron will wear off from your brakes and cling to your tyres and alloys. This makes them dull and discoloured in a process known as iron contamination, and while it mainly affects your alloys, it can cause your wheels to look a bit battered as well. Because of the way iron contamination clings to your wheels, you’ll need something a bit special to get rid of it!
