You’ve probably noticed that after a while, your car's alloys can start to look dull and worn and no matter how many times you try to clean them, the marks stay put. That’s because the majority of the discolouration isn’t caused by general dirt, it’s iron fallout. Here’s everything that you need to know about iron fallout, from what it is to how to remove it.
What is Iron Fallout?
Iron fallout is simply small particles of iron that have clung and stuck onto your car’s alloys or the paintwork. These iron particles can come from a variety of different places – from your car’s breaks, a railway track or even a factory nearby. This means that preventing it from clinging to your car can be near enough impossible – especially if you regularly need to drive on roads near a railway track!
It’s also important to note that iron fallout can be extremely hard to get rid of. No amount of hot soapy water will prize the iron particles away from your alloys and this can lead to a lot of frustration. They really bind themselves onto the alloys (and other parts of your car) and their notoriously difficult to remove.
How Does it Stick to my Car?
As we’ve just mentioned, perhaps the most annoying thing about iron fallout is how strongly it sticks! It really is super difficult to remove and the reason behind this is that iron particles have naturally jagged edges. This means that they can easily cling onto most surfaces, especially your alloys or paintwork where it can get an easy grip. Iron also oxidises which make the edges even more jagged – adding to how difficult it is to remove!
This is also why iron fallout feels so rough – it’s the edges of the iron once it has oxidised. This can also make trying to clean it off with the usual cleaning methods even more difficult as the rough edges can cause sponges and clothes to tear – definitely not something you want whilst you give your car a deep clean!
How Can I Remove It?
Most importantly, you need to know how to remove it. As previously mentioned, it can be really difficult to do and a regular car shampoo and a sponge simply won’t do the job. Pro-Kleen’s Troll’s Breath Iron Fallout Remover is the perfect product to transform your allows and paintwork. It really smells (hence the name!) but it also really works! It’s also super easy to use and has a colour indicator so that you can see exactly when the product is working and when it’s time to rinse it off. It’s guaranteed to remove that stubborn iron fallout quickly, to give you sparkling clean paintwork and alloys in no time!

How Does it Work?
Pro-Kleen’s Troll’s breath can safely be used on any car’s paintwork or alloys. This means that no matter where you’re wanting to clean – this product will do so easily, so there’s no need to worry about a lot of scrubbing and elbow grease!
For Your Wheels…
To give your wheels a deep clean and to get them looking as good as new, simply spray Troll’s Breath directly onto your wheels. Once it has been sprayed on, allow the product to sit and settle for around 10-15 minutes. You’ll then see that the product will change colour to purple (this means that it’s working)! You can then rinse the product off. You can also reapply the product or agitate with a soft brush if needed.
For Your Paintwork…
If you can also see iron fallout on your paintwork, you’ll want to tackle this too! Simply apply a generous amount of the product onto the paintwork and again, wait for the product to turn purple. Wait for around 15 minutes and then rinse off with clean water. It can also be applied again and agitated with a soft brush if necessary… it’s that easy!
Safe for Most Surfaces
For your peace of mind, Troll’s Breath is perfectly safe to use on all paintwork, wheel types, glass and mirrors. This means that you can remove iron fallout easily and give your car a deep and thorough clean, without having to worry about it damaging the car!
