The Pro-Kleen Toilet Macerator Descaler and Cleaner is formulated with phosphoric acid to descale limescale from within your macerator tank. Extends the life and maintains the quality of all Saniflo units.
Super concentrated, so deep cleans and lasts for a long time. One 5 litre bottle will give you approximately 3 uses.
It is completely safe to be used in septic tanks and macerator pumps. Deep blue in colour and pleasant smelling, breaks down and removes limescale and grime.
We would recommend cleaning your Macerator tank every 3 months however if it is used regularly, cleaning every month with the descaler and cleaner would keep your tank in a pristine condition, working at optimum performance. Regular use will prolong the life and efficiency of your macerator or can also be used as a daily general toilet cleaner.
Cleans and disinfects the tank ensuring that it remains clear of limescale build up, dirt and grime.

How to use
- Turn off the power to the Macerator unit
- We would advise to pour 1.5 to 2 Litres of the solution directly in to the WC pan and then flush
- If possible, allow it to stand in the toilet for 2 - 3 hours or overnight to ensure a complete descale of the tank
- After this time, turn the macerator system back on and this will ensure that the system is cleaned from within.
- Allow the unit to pump out and then flush the toilet

This product is very effective in cleaning and descaling the toilet bowl and outlet. It keeps the toilet water looking and smelling clean and fresh, and so I assume that the mechanical parts of the macerator are also cleaned and descaled effectively. This is a very good product, which I have used for some while.

How does the Prokleen macerator descaler product differ from the Saniflow descaler product? Saniflow are advising us to only use their own branded product. Do the chemicals in the cleaner differ between Prokleen and Saniflo?
They may have different chemical ingredients but both products will do the same job.

Yes, this can also be used in a standard toilet or for your shower waste.
I cannot access the mascerator to switch it off. Is it possible to use this product whilst the mascerator is on? Just by pouring it into the toilet bowl? Will that be pointless as the mascerator will just flush it all out immediately?
The macerator descaler and cleaner should be left for at least 2 - 3 hours in order to clean properly. If it is flushed out straight away, it will not have chance to clean the macerator.

Yes, this would be suitable to use. You can always check with the manufacturer of your domestic macerator for the correct information.
If I turn off the macerator and then pour the descaler and cleaner into the toilet pan, how will it get to the macerator? Surely I'd have to flush the toilet (with the macerator power off).
No, please turn off the macerator unit. Then pour 1.5 to 2l into the toilet pan and flush. Leave 2-3 hours or overnight to descale. Then turn the macerator back on and allow the pump out and then flush.

We would recommend only leaving a few hours in a standard toilet.
This is regarding the Pro clean macerator fluid.
As already asked above but not answered very well the instructions on the bottle are different to your instructions on the website.
They both say to turn the macerator off but on the website it says to add the fluid and then flush the toilet with the macerator off.
On the bottle it says just to turn the macerator off and then add the liquid and leave.
So which is correct as I do not want to flood the bathroom.

How to use Pro-Kleen Toilet Macerator:
- Turn off the pump on the Macerator itself
- Pour approximately 1.5-2 litres of the bottle down the toilet and flush
- Allow it to stand for 2-3 hours or preferably overnight to allow a complete descale of the tank.
- After this period, turn the Macerator back on and the system will be cleaned from within. Allow the unit to pump out and then flush the toilet.
Can I put it in a sink drain linked to the toilet (it drains slowly)? If so, should I leave it overnight? Or should I only use down the toilet?
This can also be used in the sink drain.

I left the descaler in for approx 3 hours and now when flushing the toilet the macerator is making a rattling sound like something is moving inside it. What could this be?
It could be the removed scale that is rattling in the toilet or a broken part from the toilet. We would recommend using the solution again.

We would not advise to leave for a week. Overnight would be sufficient.
The instructions on the bottle say: disable macerator, pour ~2L of pro-kleen into the toilet, wait two hours, turn on the macerator and then flush.
Your website says the same as the above BUT to flush once after putting the pro-kleen in the toilet (with the macerator off).
I followed the website instructions and it flooded my bathroom with foul-smelling liquid that backed up out of the shower.
What has gone wrong here?
The chemical will not cause a blockage. It sounds like your toilet is backed up causing the overflow. You have a blockage.
Hi there, we have a slow flowing bath drain connected to our macerator in a bathroom. I am pretty sure it's due to a build up of hair and shower gel scum and grime (it's only used by two small children and only started being this slow a few weeks ago). I'm ashamed to say we've never cleaned our macerator in four years of having it, but now realise we need to use a product like this regularly to keep it clean and going. Would this product help clean the slow flowing bath drain? Does it help
The manufacturer advises that the product would be fine to leave just in the drain over-night but I would not advise leaving it in the bath as it may affect the plating on the plug and drain.

Yes, but please follow the dilution label instructions.
What is the pH level? Grundfos specify 4 to 10 as the acceptable range for their Sololift Macerator.
The PH level is between 1 to 2.

No, this is acidic and would not be suitable.

This product can be applied neat, but for daily cleaning dilute 1L solution to 2L of water.
Can this product be used with Saniflows with a vertical pump. as in it pumps upwards to get to the drains?
Yes.
We have two macernator; a toilet and a sink. The sink regularly has an unpleasant odour and pumps up a vertical tube to then drop into a drain.Please confirm if is safe to pour directly into the sink and then leave overnight. Or advise on time scales. Similarly, i would leave overnight in the toilet. Thanks, Tim
