First Impressions

The PRO-KLEEN SNOW FOAM LANCE came well packaged in a protective cardboard box complete with internal paper instructions for use. The item was supplied with the Karcher bayonet which simply fit using the push and twist method to my Karcher power washer. The Snow Foam bottle stands taller and wider than the generic versions available at other online retailers and has “millilitre measurements” clearly marked up one side of the plastic container. This is a fantastic visual aid when using the Concentrated SUPER PRO-KLEEN SNOW FOAM as there is a requirement to dilute the product 1 part solution, to 9 parts water. The plastic bottle and brass snow foam mechanism are substantially made and are approximately 10% bigger than other variants bought from online retailers. The red plastic adjustment wheels and rotating nozzle are robust and bright in colour, so you can easily spot the lance if it’s stood on a garage shelf or within a toolbox (I have several bottles stored on a shelf, which have their own uses in respect of the car cleaning process most of which look alike).

PRO-KLEEN SUPER SNOW FOAM

Please, always read the label as the product can cause skin irritation. The solution is PH balanced and comes in a Cherry scented, pink solution. When opening and pouring it is advisable to wear rubber gloves in order not to cause any long-term skin irritation.

The concentrated SUPER PRO-KLEEN Cherry scented, Pink coloured Snow Foam solution comes in a 1L plastic container and is immediately recognisable as a PRO-KLEEN product owing to its “industrial/no-nonsense, get on with the job” styled pink, black and white livery. Under the cap, it is pre-sealed and comes complete with a heavy-duty foil seal in order to prevent spillage in transit. Carefully pierce this foil and remove it before use.

Having the product concentrated makes the 1L bottle easier to store and the suggested mix ratio lends itself easily to the PRO-KLEEN SNOW FOAM LANCE, as the bottle attached has 100ml increments etched onto the side. This not only makes it easy to work out the ratio of snow foam to water, but the bottle is also opaque sufficiently to see the volumes of products being mixed.

I have previously used a snow foam gun which was purchased from one of the large internet sites. The bottle on the generic purchase was ok but had a large brass mechanism installed on top which meant that when the bottle was empty, it was top-heavy and wouldn’t sit comfortably on the shelf, and would keep falling over. The PRO-KLEEN Snow foam lance is better balanced and will comfortably sit on a shelf without falling sideways. The PRO-KLEEN Snow Foam lance is larger than the generic types and will therefore hold more content, which then offers more product output. 100ml of snow foam solution diluted with 900ml parts water generated a full litre of mixed Snow Foam, which then covered an average family saloon. So the litre of concentrated PRO-KLEEN SUPER SNOW FOAM is enough to carry out the process on ten family saloon vehicles.

The Snow Foam Lance has two means of adjustment. The first is by way of a “twist dial” which regulates the flow of water in and out of the bottle. The forcing of the water into the bottle then agitates the solution and is projected from the “LANCE” turning the pink solution into white snow foam. The second adjusting nozzle tip alters the shape and width of the dispersing fan of foam towards the vehicle. It only took a few seconds to make these adjustments before I soon worked out the best dispersal and coverage ratio.

USE OF SNOW FOAM PRODUCT

Begin by spraying the roof of the vehicle and gradually work your way down the bodywork, and around the whole vehicle. Don’t forget to include the wheel arches and the wheels, themselves, even though you may well have used the PRO-KLEEN wheel cleaning product beforehand. The purpose of using SNOW FOAM is that it gently agitates and dissolves. As it does so it becomes a thick, rich lather and begins to loosen surface contamination to the bodywork. You can at this stage use the PRO-KLEEN Microfibre hand-washing mitt to conduct a car wash process if time is of the essence, however, I prefer to leave the foam to dissolve for five or so minutes, then powerwash the excess of the SNOW FOAM off to remove surface grime, contamination, grit and dirt without actually using a “hands-on” wash at this time. I will follow the process up with a specific hand wash using the two bucket method.

CLEANING AND AFTERCARE.

Always run through surplus water at the end of the Snow Foam lance use, as any product left with the brass nozzle fitting can congeal and eventually block up the inlet and outlet mechanisms. Simply continue the use of the snow foam lance until the water being emitted from it runs clear for approximately one minute. Never leave any part solution in the bottle as this will also contribute to a potential blockage or loss of efficiency from the device. Always dispose of empty plastic bottles, rinse and recycle.

CONCLUSION

Both these items are a necessity when it comes to cleaning your car in the correct way. The PRO-KLEEN Snow Foam lance is well constructed and well designed. It is easy to handle and visually striking, which clearly makes it stand out. The bottle and Nozzle are larger than generic internet purchases, and as stated, the container holds more solution to make it possible to cover more work surface area. If looked after, and cleaned after use, this Snow Lance will be ready for action next time around, helping to make the process of cleaning your car, so much easier.

The PRO-KLEEN SUPER SNOW FOAM is a concentrated Cherry scented solution, which if not handled with sufficient care can cause skin irritation. It comes with clear labelling and also makes note of a telephone helpline/website contact.

When appropriate precaution is taken it is safe to use and the product works seamlessly with the Snow Foam Lance. It gently “fizzes” away, lifting and loosening the surface contamination to make it easier to wash your vehicle and less likely to cause paintwork surface damage. After all, this is the primary key element in order to protect and preserve the vehicles high gloss paintwork.

These two products are used daily, and as a matter of course in my process of car cleaning and will benefit your efforts and help to protect your vehicle’s bodywork, plastic, glass, alloy wheels and engine bay, all with minimal physical effort. Both are very much relied upon in order to produce cost, time effective and professional results, time after time.
